Who I am

My name is Sam Hunt. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist, a Unitarian Universalist Minister, and a wellness coach. I’m also a veteran who served for 17 years, a husband, and an outdoor enthusiast.

My path into this work is deeply personal. I grew up with many adverse experiences that shaped who I am today. As I began my own healing journey, I realized the current health system wasn’t going to provide the full, root-level recovery I needed. So I set out to learn everything I could (still learning).

I earned my MFT license in 2017 and later branched out into ministry through the Unitarian Universalists, drawn to their commitment in diversity, compassion, and community. I am also wellness coach because I believe deeply in the power of holistic, full body healing.

I grew up poor, neglected, and often outside the norms of what others expected or understood. When I tried to ask for help, I often ran into roadblocks—being told nothing was wrong with me, that I wasn’t sick, or that everything I felt was just “in my head, and to pull myself up by my bootstraps.” Those messages stayed with me, but they also fueled my desire to create something different for others.

Over the years, I’ve navigated my own diagnoses and health challenges: rheumatoid arthritis at age 18, adrenal fatigue, MCAS, PTSD, gut issues, back injuries just to name a few.

These experiences have taught me how complex healing truly is, and how essential it is to look beneath labels, beyond symptoms, and toward the real root causes of suffering.

I believe we are not meant to suffer. We are not meant to stay stuck in pain—physical, emotional, or spiritual. While my past has held hardship, it has also taught me resilience, empathy, and a deep understanding of what it means to fight for your wellbeing.

My work now is grounded in helping others heal in a way that honors the whole person. Not just the diagnosis. Not just the medication. The whole human being.

And I would be honored to help you find your way back to yourself, too.
